Memoryhouse – This Will Be Our Year (The Zombies Cover)

HULK UP!!!!!!!!!!!

This would have really been the perfect song for New Year’s. I am not mad that it out a day late. Toronto’s own pop duo Memoryhouse release a cover version of one of the most remembered Zombies songs. As much as I enjoy the original, I really apprecaite the direction they went for this cover. Denise Nouvion soulful vocals really drive the record home.

El-P – The Unforgiven II/Purple Rain (Metallica/Prince Mashup)

HULK UP!!!!!

If you thought you would hear one of the undergrounds most popular and respected artist do a mash-up of two musical acts in two completely different sides of the spectrum; than you have an uncanny ability to see the future, and the government is most likely tracking your every move to exploit that gift/curse of yours. If you have read through my rundown of some one star Netflix movie you have never heard about; listen to this surprising mash up of Metallica and Prince, done by El-Producto.

The Internet – Cocaine (Little Dragon Remix)

HULK UP!!!!!

First the ODD FUTURE DJ remixed a track from pop-electro-rock group Little Dragon, now Little Dragon has repaid the favor, remixing the first single off  The Internet’s (Syd The Kid’s and Matt Martain) first single. The album from The Internet “Purple Naked Ladies” will be out on iTunes December 20th.

Cults – Bad Things (Remix) Feat. Freddie Gibbs

Thanks to the good folks at Hypetrak, I was able to find this little gem, awesome indie Band Cults hooked up with also awesome CTE signee Freddie Gibbs for a remix of the Cult’s song “Bad Things” , this is the first actual song we have heard from the hip hop inspired mixtape being done by the band. I look forward to see who else they have gotten for it. I am hoping to see more of the up and comers that hip hop has to offer on the mixtape.  *Fingers Crossed*

Feist – How Come You Never Go There? (Clock Opera Remix)

Does it seem I look for any reason to put Feist on the site? Well it is true, I am in love with her new album, and her first single, which is being remixed by a group of guys calling themselves Clock Opera. From what I have gathered, they have done remixes for a few other indie artist, and the word I am getting is that they are all good. They certainly do not dissapoint here as they bring some horns and drums to Fiest’s mellow single.

Glass Candy – Halloween

It seems the blogosphere is being flooded with all these Halloween centric videos and music by artist from all genres. The indie electronic-pop group Glass Candy has just released a video paying homage to the John Carpenter classic of the same name.  The video starring Ida No, and directed by Alberto Rossini is both chilling and danceable.

Glass Candy’s sinister homage to the John Carpenter classic. A Candy coated gift for all the Ghouls & Goblins in Candyland. Trick Or Treat? Another teaser from ///BODY WORK///. Disorienting walls of synthesizers grasping for their last breath accompanied by Rossini’s most disturbing work to date. Unforgiving arpeggios slash at us like tiny knives in the darkest night, while Ida channels messages from a Ouija board…

The Good Natured – Skeleton

It has been a very busy week for British electro-pop group The Good Natured. They announced a U.S tour which begins in the beginning of next year, they released their EP on iTunes- now they release the video for the EP’s first single “Skeleton”. As yours truly putting this up here, I am digging it.
