Hackers Run YG’s anti-Donald Trump Anthem “FDT” On Repeat at Radio Stations Across America
As Trump’s approval ratings continue to decrease daily, it appears hackers have chosen to use Hip-Hop to voice their displeasure with the newly inaugurated POTUS Donald Trump.
The Associated Press reports multiple radio stations have been hacked, and forced to play YG’s “FDT” on repeat. Sunny 107.9 WFBS-FM in Salem, South Carolina aired the song for 15 mins straight.
Per Buzzfeed, the station used their Facebook to inform their listeners the song’s airing was not their broadcast.
Other stations in San Angelo, Texas, Louisville, Kentucky, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Evansville, Indiana were hacked on January 20th (Trump’s inauguration) and made to play the song as well.
IP addresses for the hack have reportedly been tracked to Russia and Taiwan.
Sunny 107.9 released the following now unavailable statement on their Facebook page:
“We would like to thank our local TV stations who have helped get the word out about what happened to our station last night. Thanks to Fox Carolina, News Channel 7 WSPA, and News 4 WYFF. Coming up tonight at 11:00 pm News 4 will air and interview about what happened. And to all of our listeners and supporters of our station. Thank you for your comments and supports. You folks are as mad as we are. Rest assured that we have taken every possible security measures to keep this from happening again. Unfortunately, this may happen again. We will try our best to keep this from occurring.”
“FDT” which featured Nipsey Hussle, was a single off YG’s 2016 release, Still Brazy, which you can purchase here.
