A Tale of Two CD’s

It was the worst of times…it was the best of times.
When it was time to request reviews last month over at the other site I write at , TheWellVersed, I made sure I was able to review Wiz Khalifa’s “Rolling Papers”. I’ve been listening to Wiz for a while now…far before “Kush and Orange Juice”, if nothing else, I figured Wiz would drop a disc I could…think deeply to. It goes without saying, when I heard Wiz’s joint (pun intended)…I EXTREMELY disappointed. My review for that horrid peace of trash can be found here.
So…around the same time, I started giving a listen to these kids out of Los Angeles, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. For one reason or another, my people’s don’t fuck with them, (or they don’t fuck with my peoples) with the increased buzz around the kids though…I figured fuck it, I’ll check them out. I fuck with the Earl Sweatshirt joint heavy…and upon further research, I found out a member of their crew ALREADY released a joint called “Rolling Papers”. For those that don’t know…OFWGKTA as they are often referred to can get quite…extreme. I was told Domo Genesis is more down to earth…but, at the same time…in the clouds…heavy. With the assistance of one of my other peoples, I got Domo Genesis “Rolling Papers”. Sheesh! While definitely not flawless, the Domo Genesis joint is exactly what you would want from an album titled “Rolling Papers”. So, for those disappointed by Wiz Khalifa’s major label debut, or those who always find themselves reaching for rolling papers…you can download Dom Genesis’ “Rolling Papers” HERE.
