Don’t change that shit now…the damage is already done…(Facebook torrented)

Arggggh….Pirates have your facebook….and major corporations!

So yesterday one of my favorite sites, Gizmodo, had a story on how over 100 million facebook profiles had been thrown into a torrent file for pirates to download. The info in the torrent only consisted of stuff that you left public…translation, if you have your pics set to private, so only your friends can see you looking a like a slore when you’re  drunk…no problem, you don’t have to worry about a 350 pound guy in a “World of Warcraft” shirt whacking off to your photos in between leveling up his level 75 dark mage. It was pointed out by a commenter on Gizmodo, that with all this information downloaded, it can be combed through with programs in an attempt to generate your password for your Facebook profile and e-mail, which could in turn lead to more of your important info (So, if your name is James Avery and you were born in 83, and your password is JAVERY83….change that password)  Today however, a new story broke on how major companies are downloading this torrent. Through a process called Peer Block, the IP addresses of others downloading the torrent can be determined, and traced back to their companies or organizations of origin. While this could just be a random person within the company doing so…it could also be something else. So who are these companies you may ask?

While it’s clear some of these companies will probably be using this info to spam your e-mail (remove that from your profile) you seriously have to wonder why the United Nations or the Church of Scientology would want this information. Just because your a nobody now means nothing…if you try and become someone of significance later…the Church of Scientology will bribe you…audit yourself, or they’ll let it leak how you were shrooming at the Electric Daisy Carnival. Too late to change it now. I’m straight, EVERYBODY knows I’m a pot head already, and it’ll be legal in California soon enough.

My suggestion: Download the torrent…and software to read the profiles….20 years from now…search for the names of the people running for President…one of them will probably be a druggie, or gay.
