Some old shit I’m listening to….Dom Kennedy “Future Street Drug Sounds”

Here at RealityisReal…we don’t post everything first….we just don’t. two weeks ago I worked 69 hours…I don’t have much time. So I figured, seeing as how most of the people who check my site don’t check the other sites…I should post some older shit I’ve been listening.

I missed out on “The 25th hour” when it dropped, and “Best after Bobby”…so “Future Street…” was my intro to Mr. Kennedy from Lemiurt Park, and it was a hell of an intro. If you’re from Los Angeles, a lot of “Futurestreet…” reminds you of home, if you’re not from Los Angeles, it’s quick trip out to modern day LaLa land. For those unfamiliar with Dom Kennedy, he has a slower non-freestyle H-town type flow, however, his language is all LA. While he’s not as lyrical as his Los Angeles counterparts such as Blu, or Diz Gibran, he definitely holds his own. The tape itself is front loaded with fire but it also has dopeness towards the end with tracks like “Go Head”. My favorite joint on the tape? I’ll have to go with “It Was Beautiful”…the piano kills it, and Dom brings the realness.
