Today is a Good Day… Don’t get it twisted we all deserve health care!

Yesterday health care reform was passed. Many may not care. However, This is great news. Most without health care right now are the working class. The working class is primarily made up of minorities. Many throughout the years have stated we do not need health care reform. They have led to scare tactics that states it’s gonna lead to the government choosing who live and who dies rather than the present approach of letting the rich live and the poor die. It took me 10 years of being on my own to finally get health insurance. Only to find out that health insurance isn’t what’s it could be. It has saved me money but for what I pay for still cost alot. It true that health reform won’t make every person healthier. I think it will help keep the poor from getting poorer. I just really want to clarify some myths and hopefully some that will read this post will understand that health reform should continue to past thru the senate.

Don’t listen to the scare tactics that the rich (cough, cough republicans) throw out there. They of course know that health reform will cost more. But it will not cost the average public more it will cost the rich more because businesses and people with high income will have to pay more taxes to cover the uninsured.

The price of health insurance and going to the doctors will not cost more simply because of health reform. The truth is cost and insurance prices should go down. See what they always seem to leave out is a major reason of why medical cost are so high in the first place. Medical cost sadly to say are high in the first place because of the uninsured. The uninsured go tithe doctors less because they are in the working class thus cannot afford to pay 150 just to see the doctor for a check up nor do they wanna pay for something as soon as they get sick. Instead they put it off until something bad happens. They break something or get an infection. This cost more than a regulR check up. What may have been 150 may be triple or more. If the person coudnt afford 150 how can they afford more. They can’t and they don’t pay. The doctor losses money. How do you think that the doctor makes up for this lost the same way that stores do. When people steall the stores lose money so stores make things cost a Lil more to cover their losses. Doctors charge more to cover their losses.

They try to say that health reform will make lines to see the doctors longer. I have health insurance for a year. I still haven’t seen the doctor yet. I know I need to but I need to work to cover my bills. Having the insurance gives me piece of mind. I know that for any little thing I can go to the doctors. This means that I won’t wait until something gets really bad that I have to rush to the emergency room which waits tend to average about 6 hours. This would save me time. The responce argument may be that everyone now going to the doctors for every little thing will make wait time longer. That’s not true. Think about a car if you take it to a mechanic to do oil changes or just to check your breaks. It can take an hour or less. But if you don’t take it in ever then your head gasket bust ot your whole brake system needs to replace your care may be there for a few days to month. The mechanics must use more time to fix ur care. Your body and doctors work the same way. Yes they will have more customers but these customers will be taking way less time. Thus may make wait time not only reduce in the doctors office but also in emergency rooms. Maybe emergency rooms will only be used for real emergencies.

We one of the only industrialized countries to not have health care. The only reason is because we don’t give a fuck about the poor. Best exemplified by hurricane Katrina. If you have any more questions watch a documentary by Michael Moore called SICKO. It really show the benefits of health care reform. I ask that we all take action and write lettter and call our local senators especially in republican states. They must continue to work on reform. Support our president. Health is a right not a privelege of the rich. Let’s not let their chains of fear keep us from getting what we deserve. If you are able please speak out. Realize that economy and health are the same problem. They can be solved at the same time.
