Wale goes in over the beat Drake went over, that Timberland jacked from the Common album nobody liked…
Am I the only person that recognized this beat from that last Common album, on that track Kanye was featured on, “Punch Drunk Love”? Sure, it’s not the EXACT same beat, but “Pretty Girls” isn’t the EXACT same beat as “One thing About a Playa”….nevermind.

No, your not the only one. Artist should be more creative. Tweaking shit here and there does NOT make it a new beat! I can always tell when I have heard a VERY similar beat before and I cant do anything unless i figure out where I heard it…
Despite all that Wale’ s “freestyle” was pretty dope. I also think artist use that term very loosely…
They obviously just used the same sample, like method mans “bring the pain” sounds the same as Das EFX “They want EFX” because they sampled the same track not because he copied it.
But Shit, even common took the song from J Dillas “the shining” and put it on “Finding forever”.
True, but re-using a sample that quickly is pretty whack. Maybe I’m bias cuz I’m not a huge fan of Timbo, but I’m saying, this is your album, your a “big time producer” you could have used something different.
‘Ye’s beats on “Finding Forever” were supposed to all be “Dilla’esque” (we should use this term more often) as a tribute to Dilla.
