Welcome to the Rapper Retirement Home!

Some rappers need to quit…and I have the perfect place for them to go…

I originally did “Stop Cooning” in the golden era of HipHopDX blogs (yea, there was one of those). It was something I created based of conversations with some of my people’s. I did it every now and then, people liked it so much, they would request it. I went as far as creating an awards show. Doing it weekly isn’t the same. although I can do it weekly, the way it was done, to me, wasn’t good enough. I tossed it on the site, because even though a lot off people having been popping up tossing the word “cooning” around as of late, I was probably THE most frequent user of it on the net, so it was something the few people in the know associated with me. Eventually, I got a logo for it, so that I can rock it on a T to work on casual days without “offending others”. My “Stop Cooning” feature is on a temporary hiatus until I can decide how I want to do it.
In the meantime, there is always something to complain about. While listening to one of my favorite video game podcasts, “Rebel FM”, I heard something that really stuck with me. While talking about relationship advice of all things, someone stated that sometimes, relationships aren’t built on the likes you have in common, but the dislikes you have in common. That’s real. So while I’m all for promoting dope music, occasionally bashing trash, (I believe). can increase the connection between me, and those who check this site. So while I’ve started posting music, I figured while Stop Cooning is on vacation, I’ll also start trashing music. Not the typical trashing music that other bloggers do. I’m not gonna call the south out. I’m not gonna trash Souljah Boy (not that he’s grown…that’s what Stop Cooning is for). The rap game isn’t completely shit, I’m not gonna say hip hop is dead, however, some of these muthafuckas do need to hang the mic up, plain and simple. In the words of one of the many “where are they now” rappers, Sauce Money (google search him), “Every body ain’t Big nigga, everybody can’t flow like Jig nigga”. No, everybody doesn’t have the impact Biggie had, and everybody can’t rap forever like Jay Z. (although, that reference was actually a shot at rappers dropping double cds) Some rappers shouldn’t be rapping to begin with, and therefore, should go into EARLY retirement. So, starting next week, I’m going to open up the “Rapper Retirement Home”. The red carpet will be rolled for Fat Joe. While, I could easily go in on his whack ass acronym titled albums, his frequent lack of a shirt, his moniker which is now more affiliated with his ass than drugs, his (possible) abandonment of Pun’s family, his complete lack of a buzz, and his complete overall lack of importance in the rap game…I have an online midterm. So, I’ll get at ya’ll next week on that. Peace!
Fat Joe is horrible…I never thought I would utter those words. But nothing in him remains from the D.I.T.C days..Now all I can think of is the what’s love with Ashanti
man when I saw the title the first person on my mind was Fat Joe LOL
