My SE Fightstick and How I did it

Demon's fight stick I thought I would show my Fight stick off  in lieu of the rebirth of fighting games.

If your not willing to pay a leg and a half for a stick. I recommend finding yourself one of the SE Fight sticks from Madcatz. The only problem is that the SE has a defect that causes it to self destruct after a few days of use. The washer that’s in between the sensors and the stick is lose and bangs around and erodes the sensors eventually causing total movement loss. (This isn’t your only option, you can get a HORI stick for about the same price ). I decided to get the stick anyways and try to find a way to fix it. Mainly because I liked the design of the fight stick and I felt it was just the right size for me. So I set out to find just what I needed and where to get the parts. Luckily I have a friend that had recently done just that. He told me all about the website called Lizardlick.com and just what to get.

So I ordered a new joystick that doesn’t have the washer problem. I also ordered some Sanwa Buttons (Sanwa is your best bet, Best Quality you can find).  I ordered all these parts and it took lizard lick about a month to get the parts to me, but they have been backed up lately due to the release of all the recent fighting games, namely Street fighter 4. The Whole Process is not all that hard once you get your parts. I found a great video on YouTube showing just how to do it. Once you get the hang of it, its all pretty self explanatory.

As you can imagine,Madcatz also made a tournament stick for Street fighter 4, which is just as good as what I’ve done, but is much bigger and in my opinion a little too unwieldy.

The Tournament stick is $150, so it isn’t cheap. I spent $80 on my SE stick and about $30 dollars altogether for my buttons and my joy stick from Lizard lick. So you don’t save a ton, but its all pretty much about preference and how much your willing to spend. The Whole Process is not all that hard once you get your parts. After all that trouble, you will have yourself a stick you can go all the way to the top with.
